It turns out her mental illness is caused by creatures only she can see who are attempting to consume her. As she tries to flee them, Julia ends up nearly being consumed by them but narrowly manages to escape and her illusions cause her to harm innocent people. She is hospitalized at a mental institution where she is attacked once
