The Cursed is a 2010 horror film directed by Joel Bender.
The film begins in 1968 at Warren County, Tennessee. A girl named Lauren Tinsley went out of her house in the woods one night to look for her cat when suddenly a shadowy figure came out and attacked her. Her mother looked for her and screamed in shock when she saw the only remains of her daughter - a severed hand.
Throughout the years, people and livestock have been mysteriously missing or slaughtered in Warren County. In the present time, Denny White arrives at Warren Country one night to visit his friend Bill Fisher and to do research in order to complete his book. During that same night, the shadowy figure appeared again and slaughtered and devoured the herd of thirteen cattle of Frank Bodel. The next morning, sheriff Lloyd Muldoon arrived at the scene to investigate what happened.
Meanwhile, Denny went to the county's library in order to borrow materials that he needed for his book. Here he met a Sarah Belmont the librarian who quickly caught Denny's eyes.
