Hana - the Tale of a Reluctant Samurai, known in Japan as Hana yori mo Naho (花よりもなほ), is a 2006 Japanese black comedy by director Hirokazu Koreeda.

The story takes place in the year 1702. It concerns a young samurai, Sozaemon, who has come from Matsumoto to Edo to take his revenge against his father's killer and restore honor to his family's name. However, things take a negative toll on him and his family, and Soza must decide: to kill, or not kill? Making up the backdrop of the film are the other characters in the slum. The children, the landlord, the group putting on a play, and a small group of samurai, members of The 47 Ronin, who are hiding out before the attack of Kira Yoshinaka's mansion.
