"In 1577, the couturier Pic Saint Loup received a grand commission from King Henry III: to create the most beautiful wedding dress for the marriage of his nephew to a Spanish noble girl. So off goes Pic Saint Luop with his band of merry men to Spain, a hot seat of fundamental Catholicism where Protestants, Jews, Moors and homosexuals are quickly dealt with. And there sits the problem: Saint Loup’s faithful secretary is a Protestant, his perfumer a Jew, his hairdresser slightly off his rocker and there’s a Moor in his entourage. Just to aggravate the situation somewhat, the father of the girl turns out to be the notorious grand inquisitor of Córdoba.
